Peacock Medicine: Rising From The Ashes Like The Phoenix

Let's talk about spirit animals and power animals. When an animal crosses our path or enters our consciousness in one way or another, such as in dreams or real life, it might be a sign from spirit. Throughout the past few years, I have seen plenty of animals cross my paths, which I usually don't see in normal life. Last month in Joshua Tree, all of a sudden a bunny came hopping towards me. Half a year ago in Montana, I was seeing three bears out of nowhere (I was safe).

These can all be power animals, symbolizing certain messages and areas in our life, which are brought to our attention now. This week, I saw the beautiful peacock cross my path. I can't remember the last time this happened. I spent at least half an hour with this group of peacocks out here in Florida. Unfortunately I was unable to retrieve a fallen peacock feather, which can be quite beautiful to have.

When peacock enters your life, it could point towards the radiance that shines within us all. Peacocks are majestic and magnificent, especially the ones with the most feathers - and they have a lot to offer to the world. A peacock male can symbolize pride and power. According to other traditional meanings, peacock can also be a sign to spend more time with yourself and show more self-love towards your situation. It can be about honor, integrity and facing life's challenges with courage and integrity. You may be entering a time of rebirth (I know we probably all are at this point).

Peacock medicine can point to the unknown and maintaining a balance of confidence and humility. Some traditions equate the peacock to the phoenix spirit. Shedding the old to welcome in the new. Perhaps this is why the peacock sometimes resembles the phoenix illustrations so closely.
