Is social media dead? Where are the likes? Where are the views? How are businesses going to be able to promote themselves in the future without having to invest thousands of $$ into advertising, promoted content and more? What about that engagement photo Suzy just posted and no one really commented on? Does that mean her real life is irrelevant, too? Or the funeral invite from Tom's Dad we just received but barely glanced at because it didn't make us feel any better and somehow we started lacking compassion after the oversaturation of constant clicks, scrolls and likes that we had today before breakfast already?
What used to be so easy to sustain and manage has turned into a real frustration for some. Especially with the constant change of algorithms, people leaving platforms and other things. Is social media only for a certain age group? Do you really have to be on a million platforms in order to matter nowadays? The push to pull us elsewhere is real and it's being partially initiated by other forces than us.
How about we just take our power back and make the best of the platforms we currently still have instead of causing ourselves adult ADHD and being on a million apps that don't serve us at all? Social media is truly what you make of it. Take your realm back.
